This is the story of Wendy White. At the age of twelve, Wendy decides to go on an adventure from the lonely old castle she had been living in with her father. Her adventures will change lives forever. As she takes her journey, Wendy will find new friends, and has a chance at the family she has wanted for years. It's not an easy journey though. On the way, she faces many difficulties and struggles, but she does find out that patience and persistence can pay off. Join Wendy Mae White and her journey through A Whopper of a Tale.

I really enjoyed The Wacky World of Wendy White! A Whopper of a Tale by Barbara Ann Bonilla. As you read, you will find all kinds of food, along with restaurants where you can order those foods. And at the end of the chapters, there is a letter from Wendy Mae White about the food and places to eat, and about what you have read. This book is written in rhymes making it very interesting, and readers will find themselves giggling a lot as they read. I feel in love with the illustrations; the people and animals are adorable, and I really like the way they are placed throughout the story. The format is different than most books, but it works, and it is very pleasing to the eye. This is a book I really recommend for children because the story is amusing and fun, and the valuable lessons they will learn throughout Wendy’s journey will last a lifetime.
