In The Willing Edge by Lauren Anne Davis, after losing everything they possessed, Angela and her family relocated to Bolton, Kansas, to start again. Angela applied at Reynolds Bar-B-Q as a waitress to become self-sufficient and earn her own money. Angela waited on a large group of individuals from an energy corporation, Stantrop Oil and Gas, while working at Reynolds Bar-B-Q. Chase gave Angela his card and said she should call him if she wanted to try her hand at another profession in a different town. Angela was invited to a college party by her boss's nephew, but she stabbed a stranger who promised to take retribution. Angela had no choice but to phone Chase to escape, and she soon finds herself traveling to Dead Horse, Alaska.
The Willing Edge by Lauren Anne Davis is a riveting thriller that grabbed me from beginning to end with a complex web of mysteries and suspense. I found the book to be quite engaging and effortless to read, and I was unable to put it down until I had finished. It seemed as though I was there, given how expertly the surroundings and culture were described. There were many different characters with backgrounds that were the backbone of the story. The interactions between some of the characters were very realistic. By going for her goals, Angela demonstrated bravery and self-reliance, and she did not doubt her ability to pursue her dreams. I was enthralled by this tale of love, loss, and the pursuit of justice intertwined. A remarkable story.
