The Woman In Black (Detective Jessica Daniel Thriller Series Book 3) by Kerry Wilkinson is a sensational murder mystery thriller set in Manchester, England. Detective Sergeant Jessica Daniel is called out to a crime scene that has no body and no blood. There is only a single detached hand that has been placed on the ground. Without a body and with a very clean crime scene, Jessica and her colleagues are not sure whether they have a murder victim or a victim that is being held and tortured. Another severed hand is discovered in a public place, and Jessica still has no leads; other than a blurry image of a woman in a black cape. The investigation's pace picks up after Jessica receives several packages addressed to her, containing gruesome pieces of the victims and forensics has verified that the victims have been murdered. Jessica has caught the attention of the killer and has become the target of the sadist's twisted attention. Who is the woman in black? Is she a serial killer or does she know her victims and is killing for revenge? Why has she singled out Jessica?
The Woman In Black (Detective Jessica Daniel Thriller Series Book 3) by Kerry Wilkinson is another suspenseful mystery novel starring the cheeky detective Jessica Daniel. Jessica's people skills may not be the best, but she is an outstanding detective and gets the bad guy in the end. Jessica has a way of disregarding certain aspects of her job, such as breaking down a door while waiting for the warrant. Garry, the newspaper journalist, and her co-workers add a nice dimension to the books and help round out the story. Izzy and Louise are nice additions to the series and I look forward to meeting them again, along with Dave, Cole and Jason in the following books. For those who love characters with attitude and thrilling suspenseful murder mysteries set in England, then this fantastic series is right up their alley.
