Meet Professor Petey, the bold and true explorer in the story The World According to Professor Petey by Stephen K. Scott. Professor Petey loved visiting libraries because reading books fired his imagination and took him on a magic carpet ride. He thought he was a renowned explorer and loved trekking all over the world. Professor Petey shunned resorts and he preferred cruising the fjords of Norway or dining with monkeys in the rainforests of Brazil. His faithful doggie always accompanied him as he traveled from the seas to the mountains and battled fierce sea monsters. Professor Petey loved adventure and he loved the great unknown. Let us join Professor Petey and visit all the places in the seven continents.

This adventure story will educate young readers about the world and will give them a lot of geographical information in an entertaining way. The parent and teacher glossary of words and locations is helpful in understanding and being introduced to new words that will help youngsters enhance their vocabulary. The illustrations bring the concept alive and give the story a good pace and movement as young readers accompany Professor Petey to different places.
