Through the Tears, the second book in the Sandy Cove series, picks up with Michelle’s dad improving and continuing to heal, even though he has a long road ahead of him. After everything with her dad, Michelle decides she wants to start a family right away, instead of waiting to finish college like she and Steve planned. What they didn't expect is the difficulty in getting pregnant, following a bad adoption attempt and other complications in trying to have a child. In the meantime, her male ‘New Age’ friend keeps coming into the picture because of his continuing attraction to Michelle, even though she lets him know she is not interested. It seems that everything is going wrong with Michelle, causing more stress for her and Steve.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Sandy Cove series as we continue to follow Michelle and Steve and their problems in life. While Steve is pretty strong in what he believes, he is also patient, and doesn't let life get him down, Michelle is very impatient and wants what she wants right now. And if doesn't happen, she drives Steve crazy. I had a difficult time with Michelle and her attitude throughout this book. She just didn't give Steve any credit for what he wanted, or the advice he gave her. She was always so negative with him and ready to snap back at him if he had a question. At times she acted like a spoiled brat! But that is one thing that made the story more interesting.

Ms. Hines does an excellent job of creating characters and developing them so well. And she deals with the issues of infertility in a really good way, showing the feelings involved with the mom and dad. This is a really awesome continuation of Out of a Dream and I highly recommend it! And don’t forget the first and third book in the Sandy Cove series as well.
