Angie Pantera thought she had a perfect life. She had a husband who loved her and she loved him for 25 years, she has two children who have grown up to be brilliant human beings and she has an anniversary to celebrate all that very soon. However, her world comes crashing down when she finds out that her life is not as perfect as she thought it was. She tries to look for answers and some comfort. She finds that in the form of a church-run nursing home where she thinks she has a place. However, even that becomes a nightmare when something innocent turns out to be a curse. Now people are ending up dead and they all seem to be connected to Angie. What is she going to do now? Will her blessing be a curse? Can she even clear her name before it is too late?
Before I jump into reviewing Tigers Love Bubble Baths & Obsession Perfume (who knew!) by Mary K. Savarese, let me praise the author for the selection of the cover image. I know it is bad to judge a book by its cover, but the moment I laid eyes on this cover, I knew the book would be good. That being said, I was very happy when I realized that I was correct in making this assumption. Unlike the usual murder mysteries that have young, vital and obviously attractive people as protagonists, this novel has a woman who has lived and loved her life and is now on to the next chapter. I enjoyed reading this novel from the perspective of a person who is not 25 years old. I loved the themes, the narrative and the overall development of the plot. The author had complete command over the story. There were no slip-ups, no mistakes and no complaints from me, which made this a brilliant novel. What more can I say? I loved it!
