Time Blade: Age of Jeweled Intelligence by P. Christina Greenaway is the story of Sky Hunter, a young man who is living in California and trying to find himself and his direction in life. He is living in this world, but he knows that he is a reincarnation of a being that was far more powerful and centered than he is. He is trying to find a place for himself in this world, a purpose that will show that he has something to do. He finds his purpose when he is approached by a river spirit who tells him his true purpose. He had no idea that he is going to play a vital role in making sure that the world spins as it does and that right stays right and wrong stays wrong. Now, Sky is back in the past where he is about to get married and forces are trying not only to destroy him, but countless other people as well. What will Sky do? Can he find the strength within himself to fulfill his destiny or will he perish?
This is the story of a man who is finding his purpose is life and trying his best to fulfill it. Even though this is a fantasy novel, I loved every aspect of it and enjoyed it immensely. I could relate to Sky Hunter and I could understand his struggles, which is something I can’t seem to do with many fantasy novels. The pace of the story was good, not too fast or too slow, and the characters, especially Sky, were given the opportunity to grow and develop at their own pace. This was definitely one of the more intense novels that i have read so far this year. Every moment was a heart-beater and nail-biter. I was sitting on the edge of my seat and waiting for the next piece of action to take place, to find out what would happen to Sky and his quest. The mystery behind Time Blade and its relationship with Sky was a little unnerving at first, but as the story progressed I understood better and formed the connection that was meant to be made. This is definitely one of the best novels I have read.
