The instructions for building a time machine, written in the early 1900s, have a flaw that could bring about the destruction of the world in the thrilling and enigmatic science fiction novel, Time Waits For No One (The Chronocar Chronicles) by Steve Bellinger. When Dr. Simmie Johnson realizes his design for a vehicle that travels back in time could alter the fabric of the universe, he tries to destroy every copy of his plan that had been published, but to date he is unsuccessful. Tony Carpenter, a young man from the twenty-first century, appears in 1919, disappears, and then returns. Every time Tony arrives, something goes wrong. To correct some mishaps his arrivals cause, Tony ignores Dr. Johnson's protests and again uses the machine. Unfortunately, his attempts only make things worse, and now the fate of the world is at stake. Can Tony undo what he has done? Or is it too late?
Time Waits For No One (The Chronocar Chronicles) by Steve Bellinger is a breathtaking adventure that centers around time travel dating back to the beginning of the 1900s. Smoothly shifting between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the plot and characters meld well, creating a fascinating storyline. Skillfully depicted, Mr. Bellinger is very creative with his technology, giving his car and scientific theory a realistic feel. With a few twists in the fabric of the story, there are some intriguing elements woven into the plot that caught me by surprise at the conclusion of the book. With relatable characters and a clever storyline, it is a fascinating novel that will thrill science fiction fans who relish stories that travel back in time.
