Emotional health consists of knowing how to regulate and express one's emotions. It is the key to understanding others and ourselves. To All the Magic in Me: A Collection of Love Letters to All of Life's Emotions is a selection of poems that celebrates a variety of feelings and states of being. People have a more complex range of emotions than they like to admit. Pavita Singh helps us understand that life is not just black and white, but is a combination of all the colors in varying degrees. No matter how much we think we know, we can always learn something new. We go through life trying to avoid negative experiences, but it is from the difficult moments that we can learn the most. To illustrate this, Singh writes letters of gratitude covering topics like anger or guilt.

To All the Magic in Me reminds us to celebrate ourselves with all our skills and flaws. It is also a reflection on self-love, which is why I enjoyed these poems. Pavita Singh shares her perspective on life with honesty. She knows how to see the positive aspect in every feeling. For example, when talking about old age, a situation that many fear, she sees the approach of wisdom. These poems are a catalyst for those who need to channel their feelings. It is easy to empathize with the poems because they relate to everyday life experiences. The images are simple drawings that help to describe how the author has gone through that wide range of emotions. Singh shows us the importance of being authentic and developing self-love.
