Toilet Trouble: Poems for Beginner Readers Volume 2 by Brett Fleishman is an ideal book for your child to learn how to read. This collection of twenty poems, along with the fun illustrations by David Harston, will make them laugh while they read about baby crocodiles, a sister lost in the vacuum cleaner, poor eyesight, toilet trouble and learning about what happened to the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf. But the fun doesn't stop here for the young reader; Brett created Volume 1: If the Earth is Round for them as well. If you have older children that wish to get in on the laughs and fun, Brett has made available more poems for them from Grades 3-5 Volume 1: Twist and Shout! and Volume 2: Take a Hike! to Grades 5-7 Volume 1: Empty Beaches and Volume 2: Bedtime Story. No matter what age your child is, they will enjoy reading these books.
I loved reading this book; it had me laughing as I read each poem and looked at the pictures. The beautiful colorful illustrations in the book, along with the poems, made reading it a joy. Brett put careful thought into creating Toilet Trouble because not only are the words in an easy to read format but the content will make your child want to read more and I loved that about this book. Each page enticed me to not only want to read the next page but to look forward to it. This book reminded me of classic children's rhymes because of the structure of the poems. Add this book to your child's library!
