Clint Johnson's book, Touring Virginia's and West Virginia's Civil War Sites, is jam-packed with fascinating information, pictures and historical details. The book is organized into 18 different tours, 4 in the state of West Virginia and 14 in the state of Virginia. Each chapter is all the reader needs to be set to go on that specific tour, as the driving directions and pictures are included along with the information about the various sites that will be visited. There is a little blurb at the beginning of each chapter that gives a brief description of where the tour takes place, the distance, and time that should be allotted for the tour. Various locations that are toured in this book are Lynchburg, Danville, Charlottesville, Lewisburg, Harper's Ferry and Richmond.

This book is a second edition, so it is filled with up-to-date information. It is a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in history, specifically the Civil War, and for anyone who is looking for trips or sites to visit throughout the states of Virginia and West Virginia. The descriptions and directions that are included are very clear and user-friendly. I love that the driving directions are included along with little maps of the streets, as all of the information is included together in one section making this book an invaluable resource while traveling and touring these sites! While looking through and reading this book, the pictures and descriptions will make the reader want to plan a few trips and take in these sites!
