Tractor Worries, written by Kristyna Skriczka and illustrated by Johanka Vlkova, is a delightful and imaginative children’s book that follows a boy named Max on his various adventures around the planet. Max usually lives on Earth, but he also has an amazing rocket, which he uses for outer space travel! One beautiful day on Earth, Max heard a cry for help from his friends living on a faraway planet, so he quickly hopped into his rocket and flew to their planet to try to fix their problem. However, when Max arrived there, he was surprised by the complexity of the issue that was bothering his little friends. He was full of doubt and worry about whether or not he would be able to fix the problem. Will Max succeed in solving it, and get rid of his fear of failing?
Kristyna Skriczka tells the story of Max and his adventure with ease and excitement, while at the same time, she tackles some of the most important issues that usually arise in a child’s life and the process of growing up. Issues like self-doubt, the presence of fear, and panic while trying to get something done can be avoided and toned down with certain breathing techniques, which Kristyna talks about as well in this educational and colorful story. The illustrations by Johanka Vlkova show an interesting, almost classic style with soothing colors and pleasing drawings that follow Tractor Worries' action to the end. These enhance the importance of the main message of this charming children’s book.
