Twelve for Twelve by Dawn J. Rasmussen takes you down a path Camden Slade thought was foolproof. Twelve years previously, Jack Sutton disappeared without a trace. This rocks her world and closes a door on all things beautiful. Now, she knows where he is living and seeks to make his life as miserable as he has made hers in the last twelve years. Intricate planning sets things in motion. She is determined that he will never find out it was her that started the twelve stages of his misery, which allows her to reclaim her life. Will she ever get him to the point that he will come back to her because he needs her?
I found Twelve for Twelve a devious plan to find answers and justice for the pain caused when someone heartlessly walks out of their loved one's life. Dawn J. Rasmussen has devised different ways for Camden Slade to work out her frustration and anger at being left behind. Curiously, as much as she wants to exact her revenge, she wants to redact it equally. The mysterious stages play out in fascinating and unpredictable ways. The plot unfolds while characters come alive to live in your heart as deeper meanings to life develop. Camden goes through a whirlwind of acceptance while changing her perception of life without Jack. I highly recommend this novel for its edgy anticipation, compelling characters, and a winding path of justice. Woven within this excellently written book are humor and intense love.
