Undisclosed is the second book of Elsa Miles’ Old School Romance series. The story focuses on Libby Duncan, a resourceful, inquisitive, and uptight professional assistant who wears thick glasses and keeps her hair up in a bun. Or, at least, that is what Libby wants her boss, Nicholas Tremaine, to think. Libby Duncan’s assistant persona is nothing more than a necessary disguise she wears to work. Nicholas Tremaine’s former assistant, Roxanne Blair, harassed him to the point where he filed a restraining order against her. So, wanting to distance herself from the kind of person Roxanne is, Libby remakes herself into the image of a strict, humorless woman for work. Although she feels guilty for the small deception, Libby promises herself that she’ll come clean to her boss someday. She will even tell him about her ties with his former assistant, Roxanne, just as soon as she has what she needs to make her and her friend’s business plans come true. However, her plans are hindered by an electrifying encounter in the darkness with Nicholas Tremaine. Determined to maintain her assistant façade, Libby struggles to hide her growing affection for her charming boss.
Undisclosed is the perfect title for Elsa Miles's second Old School Romance book. Libby keeps so much of herself hidden away but she still manages to catch Nick’s attention because she unwittingly shows him glimpses of her true self in their everyday interactions. The amount of pining and yearning in this story honestly made me want to scream at the main couple. That itself is a testament to how involved and invested I was in this romance novel. Miles has created such a sweet, interesting, and exciting plot, it had me glued to the book until the very end. The relationship between the characters develops wonderfully. I loved how the very first chapter already shows the potential chemistry between Libby and Nick. Even with all of Libby’s pretense, Nick still took an interest in her because of the glimpses he could see of who she really was. I loved how, despite her determination to keep Nick at arm’s-length because of her secrets, she and Nick still grew closer. There is an undeniable connection between them and it is clear all throughout the plot. In this novel, love came knocking on these two main characters' doors but misunderstandings and challenges deterred their love story. So it made me glad they were able to get through it in the end and come together perfectly. I’ve always been a fan of happy, sappy endings and this romantic story guarantees this and so much more.
