Do you live your life in accordance with the things that are most important to you? Although it may seem easy to establish your values, doing so is a very difficult undertaking. The majority of us may concur that doing what makes us happy and staying on the correct path are both outcomes we aspire to, but are not always easy to achieve in practice. This calls for a practical and real-world approach. Laura Eigel's Values First: How Knowing Your Core Beliefs Can Get You the Life and Career You Want offers a well-written roadmap that can assist each of us in exploring our life stories and making bold value-based decisions. To be that role model leader rather than just attempting to fit in, Eigel begins by teaching the reader how to focus on themselves.
The first thing I liked about the book was how many useful tools Laura Eigel provided for the reader to determine what is right and important for them, as well as assess how they may apply the values they learned to their professional domains as well as their personal lives. I appreciated the way she offered motivational advice and catalysts that anyone can use to lead joyful, contented lives. I was delighted with the themes covered in the book, which I found to be the ones that most appealed to me and involved family, relationships, and learning. The book has been organized into sections that act as easy-to-digest portions anyone can follow, in addition to offering brevity. I had some notions about what I stood for, but this piece of work has inspired me to keep thinking and figure out what I need to change about my job and my life in general. Everything in Values First appealed to me, and I wish I had read it sooner. It was worthwhile and I recommend it to everyone looking to change the way they view the world and to anyone who wants to find fulfillment in their work.
