Waiting While Dating: Christian Couples Who Kept God First From Courtship To Marriage by Lindsey Holder is an insightful and uplifting book that helps readers discover biblical wisdom, grow closer to their Heavenly Father, and thereby discover a beautiful path ahead. The experiences of the six couples reveal that, though their ways of meeting and courting are not similar, the one common factor they all share is that they were seeking it through God’s way. The book will also help readers understand how important it is to know that God has a plan for everyone and He expects everyone to seek and find.
The book is a good base for readers who want to date to get their minds and hearts in shape for their behavior during courtship, and develop their relationship so that they can make a decision. The author shares her personal experiences of going through painful trials, sinfulness, and brokenness, and the outcome of those trials: light, wisdom, grace, strength, friendship, joy, mercy, compassion, forgiveness, redemption, and the lesson of putting God first. The author’s advice to readers is to put Christ first in the relationship and then live out emotional, spiritual, and sexual integrity in the dating relationship so that the foundation is always strong. The author’s words give hope to the broken-hearted and will give them a new perspective on what is important in life. The book can be used as a guide to dating and finding a partner with holiness, faithfulness, and obedience, while keeping God at the center.
