In Washing the Inside of the Cup: My Journey of Walking in the Spirit, Cheryl Lynn got married in her early 20s and found herself in a new environment that was physically, mentally, verbally, emotionally, and spiritually abusive. In her desperation, she focused on God’s mercies. She found the courage to divorce and remove herself and her children from the situation. Cheryl longed for perfect peace. The title of this book conveys her concept of cleansing a life in spirit that can transform and renew your mind. Cheryl’s focus is her spiritual cleansing by the Lord. She felt privileged to partake in the Lord’s promptings and describes how the Holy Spirit tried to show her the way on the day she was crying out to God about her situation. She realized that without faith it is impossible to please God without His spiritual cleansing. Cheryl now lives an abundant life where her heart and mind are in perfect peace.
Cheryl Lynn demonstrates what the Lord showed her. If she immersed herself in His Word, amidst the storms of life, His Word would sustain, protect, and reward her. She illustrates how God sustained her and revealed Himself to her in visions, dreams, and other ways He chose. In Washing the Inside of the Cup, Cheryl uses examples of how her prayers were answered through continued manifestations of God’s promptings and gifts of the spirit. She believes it is His Word that cleansed her to be a pure vessel for Him to use for His work on this earth. I appreciate Cheryl’s confident drive to motivate readers with this convincing, wise, and simple book. She advises us to listen and obey Him by being a doer of His Word. I highly recommend this book.
