If you are looking for urban fantasy, thrills, mythical lore, and suspense, We Are Legion - One Supernatural Day in Thacker Pass by J. A. Kampton is a perfect pick. Using a multi-perspective storyline, Kampton introduces readers to exciting and diverse characters. The cinematic depictions, alongside the integration of pop culture, sarcasm, satire, and whimsical dark wit, made reading this story feel like watching a Hollywood sci-fi/fantasy starring Tom Holland as Wiley and Jenna Ortega as Rebecca. Fans of The Twilight Saga will love this read. I loved how Kampton intertwines weighty themes such as immigration, gender roles, marriage, environmentalism, accountability, and spirituality with comical relief, highlighting the absurdity surrounding their interpretation by contemporary society. Despite this being the third book in the Heresy & Wrath series, there is enough context to make it a standalone read. I loved it.
