Suzan Johnson's We Need Bees is a delightful children's book about Randy, a little boy who enjoys spending time outside among nature. One day, he notices his mom looking sad because of the condition of her flowers. Her garden doesn't have any bees to pollinate them. This inspires Randy to do extensive research in his local library to find creative ways to attract bees to his mother's garden. He also learns why bees are vital in any ecosystem. Randy's notes include helpful tips like using natural pesticides, creating a bee bath, and providing shelter for the bees. He even got his dad to join his crusade to save his mom's garden. That weekend, they bought flowering plants to help attract bees. Randy's main goal is to transform his mom's garden into a pollinator garden. Will his efforts and hard work pay off? Will the helpful bees return?

We Need Bees isn't just your average children's book--it is an invitation to learn more about the world around us in an enchanting and engaging way. This book will fascinate young readers and encourage a passion for home gardening, DIY projects, and the environment. It is the ideal beginner book to teach children and adults about the importance of pollinators when creating a sustainable ecosystem. The fun illustrations provide optimal visual learning for readers. Children and parents alike will be equally impressed by the discussion and craft section, picturesque photos by Jenell Lozin, and the fun drawing/coloring activities at the end of the book. Overall, Suzan Johnson's We Need Bees is easily accessible for young readers and can be appreciated by the entire family, making it an entertaining, educational gift that can be passed down throughout the generations. An informative read.
