There is nothing wrong with you and there never was. This is the powerful message contained in the last chapter of We’ve Got This: Unlocking the Beauty of Belonging by Ritu Bhasin. In this illuminating book, Bhasin explains how and why she arrived at this conclusion. She tells the story of being the child of South Indian immigrants of Sikh descent in Canada, and how difficult it was for her to fit into the social and educational system. She explains that she didn’t feel like she belonged and had an identity crisis that spilled over into her professional and dating life. Her moment of truth came when she attended an ashram in Southern India where she was able to unlock her path to belonging and create a new life for herself while improving her relationship with her family.

In We’ve Got This, Ritu Bhasin uses her life and insights to make this book both personal and engaging. I felt like she was directly talking to me, offering her journey as a road map while also explaining the steps that she took to a more fulfilled life. Bhasin structured the narrative into three main topics, asking questions at the end of each chapter to enable the reader to reflect as they went through the book. I also like that she gave additional resources at the end to enable the reader to dig deeper into a journey of self-awareness and healing. I highly recommend this book to readers who are looking for a sense of self, seeking their identity, and those who are searching for where they belong.
