Writer Andy Holloman has been scribbling stories since a young age. (According to reliable sources.) "Shades of Gray" is his first published novel and grew out of his experiences as a travel agency owner many moons ago. He was fascinated with the true story of a client of the business that was murdered. Suspecting her line of work was drug smuggling, a story sprouted in his over-active imagination - How far would a desperate person go to save their child and their business.
His 2nd novel "When His Dreams Take Flight" was published in Oct. 2013 and is a Suspense/Thriller novel set in present day North Carolina.
He is the father of three and happily married for 20 years. A graduate of UNC-CH, he lives in the Raleigh, NC area and is busy carpooling, keeping his wife happy, and attending his kids sporting events. He loves the great outdoors in NC, is an avid reader, and a social media goofball. Most evenings, he can be found tapping on his well-worn keyboard as he "births" his next novel.

When His Dreams Take Flight by Andy Holloman is a story based on the actual events of the shooting at Sandy Hook, although none of the events in the story are real. Nick is a High School Principle battling with an alcohol problem. Following an incident at the school, he is suspended and falls off the wagon – not for the first time. While he is in an alcohol-induced coma, he dreams he is flying over a different school each time and, at each one, he sees a gunman getting ready to wreak havoc. With the help of his sponsor Gene, he manages to thwart 2 attempts, never revealing his identity. With the arrival of an ex-wife, a new girlfriend on the scene, and the release from prison of a town troublemaker, things get a little heated. His third vision happens after his sponsor dies in an apparently alcohol-related accident and leads him right to his own school where he is unable to prevent the tragedy unfolding before him.
Andy Holloman has given us the right mix of love, laughter, and horror in When His Dreams Take Flight. I found it an easy yet thrilling read; this is one of those books where you won’t guess the ending. Andy makes sure to give the reader enough background on each of the main characters so that the reader understands where and how they fit into the story. I thoroughly enjoyed When His Dreams Take Flight and would love to read more from the same author.
