Who Ordered a Medium (Unfortunate Spells Book 0) by Jennifer Laslie is the story of an ex-bride-to-be and a medium/stripper who realizes that there is something powerful between them. When Josie met Sebastian, she was going to become a bride in a couple of days and he was the male stripper at her hen party. However, when her fiancé dies in a horrible accident, she has no idea where her life will go next. But when an entity starts haunting her house, Sebastian comes to her home and claims to be a medium. Together, they try to find out who and what is trying to haunt her and what it would take to get rid of it. In the meantime, they have to fight the chemistry that is bubbling between them. Will they give in to their feelings and explore the magic between them? Or will they focus on the supernatural entity inside Josie’s house?
This was such a fun and entertaining story to read. Josie and Sebastian are a hoot. Their interactions were incredible. Josie is a fine woman who has a lot of control over her life, so having a supernatural entity in her life was completely out of her comfort zone. Sebastian was like a breath of fresh air for her. He was calm, in control, and actually had a game plan. She relied on him and he relied on her. The narrative was witty and it oozed charm. I loved the way the author made sure the reader was hooked to the story and wasn’t going to stop reading it until the very end. I enjoyed the plot, I adored the protagonists, and I was thoroughly entertained!
