Honeydrops (aka Honey), once an evil witch whose career resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths and the destruction of empires, changed her modus operandi when she fell in love with the stunning angel, Melicintarifer (aka Melissa). Obviously, switching from evil witch to do-gooder is not easy, but with Melissa's help, Honey succeeded for nineteen years. However, an archnemesis tracks her down, other enemies join the fight, and her daughter is kidnapped. Honey has no choice but to bring her evilness back to work. As she encounters new enemies, she convinces former enemies, from heaven to hell and realms unknown, of her change and enlists their help in Witch'n 2: Witchier by Joshua Braun.
This is a fast-moving, dark comedy of fantastic settings, inventive creatures, and action. Not to be missed are the sexual innuendos and hilarious situations thereto, but the author keeps it clean. Of the almost thousand books I've read in my life, this one is unique in many ways, not the least of which is a wildly imaginative author who manages to create the all-important verisimilitude (sense of reality) in his descriptions of monsters, creatures, and entities that otherwise defy definition. Intertwining "normal" characteristics with fantastical creatures and characters is not easy, but Joshua Braun obviously believes otherwise and uses every opportunity throughout the story to prove it. As I look forward to reading more of Braun's work, I'm certain that readers of horror novels that incorporate humor and true-to-life situations run amok will love Witch'n 2: Witchier.
