Patt Fero's www.queenmotorhome.com is a spellbinding, hilarious story that blends adventure with women's fiction to offer great entertainment. Meet Leslie and Liz, two intelligent and successful women who have everything they ever wanted. They live a life that most women their age would want to live — beautiful homes, financial security, and membership at the country club. But they have always wanted to do something out of the ordinary, something that takes them out of the doldrums of their corporate lives and allows them to just be themselves. So, when Leslie loses her job, the two friends find it the best opportunity to try something they have only talked about — pack up the newly acquired motor home and hit the road for an unknown destination. It’s the beginning of an adventure like no other, but are they prepared for the challenges ahead?

As I read this novel, I couldn’t help thinking about this story being turned into a movie. It is well plotted and the suspense is thoroughly done. I also enjoyed the author’s handling of conflict and themes of family, friendship, and work. When we meet the characters, we think they are happy people with loving husbands, but setting out on an adventure brings them face to face with harsh reality and forces them to answer questions they never considered from the start. New encounters and experiences will make changes in them and make them question a lot of what they thought they knew about themselves and the world. Now they have to think about safety and how their husbands feel back at home. It is also interesting how they evolve through this adventure as they learn to embrace and handle their newfound freedom. Patt Fero’s prose is beautiful and the setting is impeccable. This story will remind readers of the wild things they have often considered and perhaps lacked the nerve to pursue.
