Those who love Lisa Jackson will not be disappointed with her latest novel "You don't Want to Know" set in the Pacific Northwest. Mansion owner Ava Garrison has her hands full. Her two year old son went missing two years ago and she is slowly going insane. She is on medication and hallucinating so that her handsome attorney husband wants to have her committed to a mental facility. There is clear and ample evidence of her emotional instability when she sees her lost son on the dock of the family estate and jumps into the frigid fall waters in an attempt to rescue the phantom son. But the family in general is slightly off-center and the reader gradually realizes there is more to the story than what is assumed at first glance. Little by little, Ava decides to take control of her life and this sets into motion a series of drastic events which will confuse and then clarify the issues for the reader.
There is no doubt that Lisa Jackson is a master of mystery but her character development is the true highlight of the book. Her ability to inject ambiguity into the minds of the readers is what helps pull off a solution to the multiple mysteries. You have heard the words spell-binding and this is that and more. You have heard the words riveting and the meaning of the word is contained within the pages of the book. From start to finish, this is a spine-tingling thriller that will catch even the most literary sleuths off-guard!
