Your Star Will Glow Forever is an illustrated picture book for children. The concept for Your Star Will Glow Forever is original and displays a lot of love that parents have for their children … even when they’re not around. Just as an evening star is constant — though we can’t see them — they’re always there. Author Joshua Blum has written a moving and caring story of how stars can guide us when we’re feeling blue or feeling alone. It’s inspirational and happy. It’s short and sweet and would make a good bedtime story. I like how the pictures are of different fairy tales. The book is a tale of hope and promise between parents and their child, which you can share with your child.
The illustrations in Your Star Will Glow Forever are very well done. Author/illustrator Joshua Blum uses pencil drawings, as well as paintings to illustrate the heartfelt and comforting words. The dragon especially will attract children’s attention, because it is well drawn. Children could look for the yellow star in each illustration and make it into a game. Your Star Will Glow Forever reminds children that if they feel alone or feel as if everyone is against them, they are not. There is a star above you that is there when your parents cannot be. Wherever you go, whatever you dream, think of the star as a guiding light upon your path. If you like the book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, then you will like Your Star Will Glow Forever.
