Do you want a pet duck, but don't have a place outside for it? If only you could keep it in the house. Can you keep a pet duck in the house? Why not? But, how do you take care of a house duck? Zucchini's Zany Life by Marilla Mulwane is a heartwarming how-to book on the care and keeping of a pet duck as a house pet. Zucchini is a duck that bonded instantly with her human mommy as a little duckling. As she grew older, her mommy realized that her little duckling wouldn't do well outside, mainly because she is terrified of the outdoors. Mommy had to make necessary house arrangements and adjustments so that she could keep Zucchini in the house safely and healthily. Soon, Zucchini was as much A part of the house as the dog and cat. Go on a journey with Zucchini and her pet mommy as they cover what it takes to become a duck parent. This book helps prospective duck parents prepare for and look after their house duck. It has advice on the care and keeping of a pet duck and how to introduce your ducky to the other pet family members. It even contains a much-needed chapter on diapering a duck. Yes, diapering a duck. How else can one keep a duck in the house? Are you ready to share every aspect of your life with ducky and in return be loved unconditionally? Are you ready to welcome your new duck family member into your home?
Zucchini's Zany Life by Marilla Mulwane is an indispensable book for pet duck owners. I loved how the author was so candid and maintained a sense of humor. Integrating a new pet into your home can be difficult, but the author imparts a sense of confidence to the reader. It is possible to have a duck as a house pet. That being said, it is important to keep in mind that having a house duck is not ideal for everyone. Ducks are clingy. They need a lot of attention and love. I would suggest reading this book to prepare you before bringing home your little ducky. This book is perfect for the person who has rescued a pet duck, but has no idea where to go from the rescuing part. It covers everything from bringing your duckling home to the importance of clipping ducky's wings. Although it doesn't show the reader how to clip the duck's wings, the chapter is very useful, and as the author writes, there are plenty of how-to videos on YouTube if one feels confident enough to try without a vet's supervision. I appreciated that it had two duck diaper patterns with detailed instructions, as those can be very hard to find and are quite necessary for anyone wanting to have a duck as a house pet. I would recommend this book to anyone who has or is considering acquiring a pet duck family member.
