In 10 Habits of Highly Effective People, A.I. Abana present readers with positive behavior patterns that efficient individuals (regardless of their profession) share that contribute to their success in life, and how we can incorporate them into our lives to achieve our own goals and dreams. Initially this book reminded me of Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The clear difference is that Abana’s self-help book is more straightforward. These 10 habits are not over-intellectualized and are instantly implementable - of course it depends on one’s determination and their level of pro-activeness in making positive changes in their lives.

No doubt some of the habits will be well-known to most readers, and I myself know how effective and rewarding “The Habit of Making Plans” and “The Habit of Keeping a Schedule” really are. It’s actually nice to be reminded of these two habits and be motivated to stay the course in terms of achieving my own set of goals. There are also recommended habits of being prudent and being patient. These guidance tips of effectiveness are not new, but shed light via another perspective through examples and some of Abana’s own experiences, and made relatable to our times today. The pictures included are good tools to highlight the points of the discussion. All in all, this is a solid book and a good read for everyone.
