"The house crouched there on the corner of Abercorn and Wayne like something alive but dormant, a hibernating beast, which may soon awaken and swallow the world whole." The house at 324 Abercorn is author Brad Storm's dream home and he got it. Despite the rumors about it being haunted, Brad restores it and ignores its infamous history. When strange things start happening in the house, Brad's skeptical stance on the paranormal is challenged; his landscaper dug up a human skull in his yard, he comes home to find the TV is on, he wakes up one morning to find the oven door ajar, and he hears footsteps on the upper floor. What is truly going on? The novel 324 Abercorn is a paranormal suspense offering from Mark Allan Gunnells.

A haunted house is a beloved concept for paranormal fans and it's always exciting when it's given a fresh premise on which to build a story. The narrative is engaging thanks to Mark Allan Gunnells's prose; it has an appealing ease whilst being evocative at the same time. Set in historic Savannah, Georgia, the vibrant details give a clear sense of the place which in turn gives the plot its depth. Protagonist Bradley Storm is easily likable and one can't help but cheer for his romance with the charming and confident Tobias. The ghostly aspects such as the mysterious footsteps, upside down books, and a strange figure in the window are enough to tickle the senses and invoke a sense of dread. Readers might have different opinions on whether the story has a fair balance between romance and suspense but the plot has a solid twist that leads to a satisfying conclusion. Overall, 324 Abercorn is an entertaining read.
