Truth’s Companion (The Seer Series) is a light mystery by K.R. Williams. Miranda Moon is one of the brilliant young students chosen to go to an archaeology convention. The group is invited to research a mysterious artefact and leave for Graille Mansion where it is kept. The mansion, owned by Murdock Graille, contains some of the most interesting literature the students find fascinating, and an unusual history that has cursed the family for generations. Each of the students has special skills, which become evident while seeking information on the artefact. They soon realize that it contains special powers that cause evil in the wrong hands. The object seems to communicate with Miranda, and she and a few others are mesmerized by its powers. Their research reveals this object could be The Holy Grail and make a vow to become its guardians as danger lurks nearby.
I enjoyed reading Truth’s Companion (The Seers Series) with its intriguing setting that reminds me of Indiana Jones, but without the fast-paced action. The author has an engaging writing style, and I like the imaginative story she has produced. She has built up the suspense, with a similar ending that I also think is nice. Truth’s Companion has several little mysteries that interest me, and the Graille family history is one I am sure will make a good book on its own. Each character displayed unusual traits too, and they played their roles well. K.R. Williams has written a very short, but pleasant novella.
