Nate and Kay hook up every summer for a two-week camping trip at Lake Mohave and the sparks fly in Clear As Day by Babette James. Nate is a traveling photographer, but has decided he's done with his gypsy ways and wants to settle down. Kay is an artist and teacher, and has a disturbing past where she doesn't have a single role model for a good loving relationship. She is content with the summer arrangement and doesn't plan to marry ... ever. So, she is shocked when she learns of Nate's home purchase and proposal that they get married and settle down in his new house in Oregon. Nate has twelve days to convince her to say yes. Can he do it, or will he sail off alone?

Babette James created some very good characters in Clear As Day. The supporting cast added entertainment and helped carry the story forward. I am interested enough in two of them, particularly, to see if a sequel with their story comes out. Kay was a grown woman, but she was also fragile. Her main flaw was her self doubt and mistrust of Nate, which sometimes became too much. She didn't trust love or relationships to turn into anything but heartache. The sexual scenes between her and Nate were written very well, and there were a lot of them to spice up the story. Even though at some points I couldn't like Kay, I always felt something for her. The end brought a few tears to my eyes, a very sweet and emotional resolution.
