"A Forever Family Living in the Big House" by Sal A. Edwards is a short, charming story about a variety of animals that have been taken in by a nice family. Some animals have been adopted because they turned up as strays, other animals have been taken from shelters or from pet stores. The book tells a story about how they all have to learn to live with each other and accept each other - which isn't always that easy for cats and dogs. And of course a bird would at first be terrified if he saw a cat reaching out its paw towards him!

"A Forever Family Living in the Big House" by Sal A. Edwards is a lovely story that can either be read to children or they can read it themselves and also enjoy the photos of the various inhabitants of the big house. There are many important lessons that can be taken out of the book and it would be great if children who read this book would learn them, e.g. tolerance, acceptance, how to be a good friend, how to not be jealous etc. The story makes the concepts easy to understand and also shows solutions. It is an easy read for children and the questions at the end of the book can help to start discussions between parents and children. The topics that are explored in this book are important for all of us and parents would do well to read the book, too, because adults also often have the same problems that are mentioned in the book!
