Have you ever heard of Bert Geiger? If you are a fashionista, Always in Fashion by Bert Geiger was written just for you. Ever since Albert ‘Bert’ Anthony Geiger, Jr was a child, he was fashion conscious. He would consult those around him about their fashion sense, particularly his family. Always in Fashion by Bert Geiger is an autobiography that starts in the 1930s and extends to over three decades of 'behind the scenes' of Bert Geiger’s concept and fashion designs. It was not only Bert Geiger’s love for fashion but his passion for theatre, music and art that influenced his fashions as well. In Always in Fashion, you will see that his desire is to share with those who want to create fashion and to make a shift in how it's displayed. You may not have the ability to be amongst the fashion industry greats such as New York fashion designer, Elizabeth Hawes, who is also the author of the 1938 best-seller, Fashion is Spinach, but if you know that the world is your oyster, study it and create your own interpretation of it.

I love fashion. In reading Always in Fashion by Bert Geiger, I was enthralled in learning the process that Bert Geiger used in formulating his line. Bert Geiger was so immersed in fashion that in his younger years he would try on different women's clothing to feel the essence, depth and breadth of the material. “From my earliest days any kind of dress, jewelry, costume, or fabric would find its way onto my body, to fantasize my dreams of theatre and fashion…to test the look or feel of a garment on myself...,” says Bert Geiger. I love this process because Bert Geiger was putting himself into the body for which he was designing. Fashion is intimate, from fabrics to millinery work, and if you love fashion and want to learn about what goes in the fashion industry, Always in Fashion by Bert Geiger will be your teacher.
