Sometimes life can be perfectly mapped out, but then again, sometimes life throws you crazy detours that are like twisty country roads with a huge roadblock in the middle. An Event To Remember...or Forget chronicles the life of Sienna Harris, an established event planner who has been slaving away at Carrie's Classic Events and More forever, but is (not so) secretly starting her own Event Planning business, Sheer Happiness. She has been dating Luke for ten months, and as her BFF, Miranda, and her brother get engaged, she is already hearing wedding bells in the background. Her plans include Luke, but for whatever reason, he doesn't seem to include himself in those plans very much, always having a reason not to be there anymore. Sienna makes excuses for him, all while making her lists for her events and her new business. In the middle of trying to manage a HUGE event for Carrie's company, the massive roadblock pops up in the middle of Sienna's perfectly organized life and world of lists. Will she be able to maneuver around that and follow through in making all of her dreams a reality?
Melissa Baldwin, oh, you sneaky author! She pulls you into her story gently. At first, you are observing from the sidelines, enjoying the ride. Then suddenly you realize you are living the story with the characters, living the drama and the crazy as the friends smile, laugh, cry, fight and love. You'll find yourself grinning when you aren't even reading the book, because you're thinking of Sienna, Luke, Miranda, Craig and Ace when you are supposed to be working. A wonderful, fun read. I can't wait to start the next one.
