In Angelsong, the third book in Hanna Peach's Dark Angel series, Israel is dying from a poisoned knife wound. If Alyx wants to save him, she'll have to go back to the Seraphim society and get Mayrekk's help as well as the knowledge contained inside the Threads of Dark. Getting back inside will be far from easy as she will have to dodge Elder Michael's wrath as well as outsmart a plethora of ancient riddles and booby-traps. It's a race against time and the only important question is. . . will Alyx make it? Filled with shocking revelations, a bittersweet love, and loads of action, Angelsong raises the bar in the Dark Angel series.

While the first two books in the series concentrated mainly on the brewing war between angels and demons and the corruption going on in the Seraphim society, Angelsong concentrates more on the romance. Any Dark Angel fan who happens to be Team Jordan will be happy to know that after an accidental encounter with a Memory Thief, Alyx's feelings for Jordan begin to grow. The writing in the third book is well done, concise, and original. The character motivations feel more organic instead of trapped by literary conventions and archetypes. The revelations aren't as easily apparent and there were quite a few that I really didn't see coming. There were also seeds planted that promise to grow into epic fruition in the coming book and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
