In September 2012 she broke away from the romance genre and launched a new suspense series, Denver After Dark that is centered on three brothers, one a cop, one a firefighter and one a paramedic. Book #2 BRB (Be Right Back), when they travel back to 1980, recently won a Readers’ Favorite Young Adult Award in 2013. Book #3 BION (Believe It Or Not), when they go back to 1927 and join a circus to save a boy, was released in July, 2013. All three books in this series have received rave reviews and 4 and 5 star ratings. Book #4 RIP (Rest in Peace), a ghost story set at the famous Stanley Hotel will be released in January, 2014.

Kathy Clark has created a wonderful gem in Baby Daddy, the first in her new Scandals trilogy. Upon first glance you think this will be the same old story of a young college student, Killeen, getting knocked up by her boyfriend Brandon, who storms off angrily, leaving her to deal with finals, morning sickness, and colic on her own. But that is the only thing typical about this story. After a visit from an attorney about a possible inheritance, Killeen learns that her father was a country music star and that she has several siblings she has never met. Her inheritance includes a private investigation firm run by the gorgeous Christopher. Killeen decides to keep her pregnancy a secret from Christopher and her siblings. Things appear to be looking up for her, until a warehouse bombing nearly kills them all.
Although they shared a night of white hot passion, Killeen doesn’t believe there could ever be a future for her and Christopher, given how gorgeous and put together he appears to be. But as I am slowly learning about Kathy Clark, nothing is ever that simple. Christopher thinks Roger’s purported overdose was actually a murder and works hard to prove his theory. Baby Daddy is a fun story filled with tension, danger, and of course, romance. This blending of multiple genres worked well and kept me entertained from beginning to end. As the tension of unraveling the mystery ratchets up, so too does the sexual tension between Chris and Killeen. You never know what’s going to happen in their relationship or the P.I. firm and you’ll be dying to find out until all is revealed.
