I loved the premise of Balancing Act (The Santa Monica Trilogy Book 3) by Jill Blake. When reading a romance, you definitely want a hot and heavy love interest from the very first pages, and an old rivalry (of two attractive people who are obviously attracted to each other) is definitely the way to start! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough within this book to get to the meat and potatoes of the story (and the romance) to find out how two smart and sexy lawyers could find a way to solve the issue of suing one another and yet still be sleeping together.

The high stakes and anticipation kept me reading because I really wanted to know how this love/hate relationship was going to work out. Would the characters admit their love for each other and act on their passion? Or would they let the money and greed and success of their business (and their egos) get in the way of the passion and spark that was obviously between them? Those were the questions I had as I raced through the pages to get to the juicy answers.

I also liked how we had access to both Zach and Angie's points of view (like any good romance). It was really fun to read about how hot Angie thought Zach was and then turn the page to read about how sexy Zach thought Angie was. Knowing more than the characters is always fun and helps us have a strong suspicion of the fun that is about to come next...
