Get ready for a magical adventure with Bath Time Fairies by Wendy Googe. On a spring day, Violet, a young girl, is playing games with her friends, who are fairies and elves. They are outside and have mud pies, tea, and pastries while puffy clouds shaped like dragons and unicorns fly over their heads. Violet becomes hungry and is going inside her house when her mother sees her mud-splattered dress. Her mother insists Violet needs a bath, so reluctantly Violet enters the bathroom and opens the window to see that her friends, the mischievous elves, sprites, pixies, and fairies, have also come in to play with all the bubbles. They transform the bubbles into airplanes, dragons, and boats. But now, it's time to clean up as even the Corgi, Alfred, is drenched. Will Violet's friends help?

Using rhyme and colorful illustrations, Wendy Googe has written an amusing adventure tale for kids. Bath Time Fairies brings out the imaginative child within you -- the one filled with wonder and awe who is fascinated by everything around them. Googe's rhymes are catchy and singable, and the story is delightfully adventurous. Violet is a precocious child with a vivid imagination. As many kids can relate, she even names her imaginary friends, which is adorable. Wanda Stanfill's hand-drawn illustrations are captivating, and they complement Googe's narration perfectly. I also enjoyed the character of Violet's mother. She indulges her daughter's shenanigans while reminding Violet of her responsibilities when it's time. Elementary school kids will love this book. Parents can even read it to their toddlers. All in all, this is a picture book that will make you smile!

Imagination is a wonderful way to make the world a much better place. Violet knows that; only she doesn’t call it imagination. She calls it her fairies. In Wendy Googe’s Bath Time Fairies, this little girl plays with her fairies outside, and then, coming in all muddy, she plays with them in the bath. It’s a bubble bath, of course, and some of the fairies become mischievously playful and make quite a mess. But Mom doesn’t mind. The two share a chuckle as they clean up the bathtime mess.

Wendy Googe’s picture book, Bath Time Fairies, is the second book in the Tales of the Fairy Realms series. It is a delightfully fun story, all made up of imagination. Told in rhyming verse, this lyrical treasure will inspire young readers to create their own kind of fun, without the usual high-tech toys that so many youngsters use today. The mind is really the best high-tech toy, as young Violet knows so well. And fairies are such magical creatures. The language is simple to help young readers follow along easily and improve their reading skills. A short Words to Know section at the end will help young readers understand and recognize some of the more difficult words. Also at the end is a Notes section, including some sage advice from one of the fairies that will help young readers deal with their emotions. The illustrations are bright, bold, and colorful and add another zest of imagination and fun to the story. Beautifully told and illustrated.

Learn all about fairies while having fun in Bath Time Fairies by Wendy Googe. What do you do when your mother calls you in from playing with fairies and makes you bathe? You open the window and invite the fairies to join you. Violet did that, and the fun that followed makes great reading. The fairies had as much fun playing with the bubbles as Violet did. She enjoyed watching them play and transform into airships, dragons, and boats. As they play, they make a mess. Violet lets them leave as she tries to clean up the mess. Her mother enters the bathroom and sizes up the situation. She helps Violet finish cleaning the floor and then does something surprising. Read this book to learn what Violet’s mom does and how the fairies react.

Bath Time Fairies by Wendy Googe is a nice little children’s book that helps young readers learn all about fairies. The story is written with fun rhymes, while the information is delightful. At the end of the book, Wendy adds details about the different types of fairies, how to have fun during bath time, and how to make good choices. She explains why Welsh Corgis can stay dry while playing in the water. Your child will learn about Leaflet, the Messenger Fairy, and the helpful messages he shares with children worldwide. A short dictionary is included with words that the young reader needs to know. Wanda Stanfill does a superb job of illustrating this enchanting story. Have fun with your children as you discuss imaginary play and the difference between make-believe and reality.
