From navigating dangerous waters to uncovering ancient secrets in Bermuda’s caves, the story is packed with action, mystery, moments of reflection, and good old-fashioned storytelling.
Olha Smulska vividly brings to life the bustling streets of 1725 New York, the towering cliffs of Bermuda, and the enchanted city of elves hidden within the island’s caves. The writing captures the essence of each setting, and well-developed characters, each with their own quirks and personalities, add humor to the story. The style is smooth and engaging, making this a delightful read for young readers and fantasy enthusiasts. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of excitement alternating with quieter, emotional scenes that highlight the characters' bonds. City Under the Cliffs is a story of friendship, family, and the spirit of adventure. It reminds readers of the importance of loyalty and the joy of discovering new worlds while staying true to one’s roots. It’s not necessary to have read the first book to follow this one, but for those who enjoy pirates and adventure, the first is equally entertaining. I look forward to subsequent installments.
