In Breaking Your Bubble by Razvan Balotescu, the author states that humans are operating on a different evolutionary pattern than their current consumption supports. He urges his readers to challenge themselves and focus on habits and activities that match the body's design. Using sage teachings from the past and applicable medical information, Balotescu helps readers manage biological, spiritual, and cultural friction. The author outlines the science behind fasting, cold plunges, exercise and playing sports, developing good eating and drinking habits, mindfulness, sleep, spirituality, and our need for immediate gratification. He outlines a diet that will align with your body's needs and keep you healthy, helps you understand why you make certain decisions, and shows you how to have a more fulfilling life.

After twenty-five years as a primary care physician, Razvan Balotescu presents a book that will help you lessen your chances of developing a chronic disease and balance your lifestyle. Balotescu applies biblical passages and other ancient texts. Each chapter can be read individually and cites interesting and helpful tips. As I read his words, this author has changed the way I look at eating and exercising. With the help of Balotescu's book, instead of following a set of general rules, I plan to embrace certain habits that helped my ancestors live more fruitfully. I was especially pleased with his approach to treating the causes instead of the symptoms to promote a faster resolution. Readers who are ready to use methods that work with their bodies naturally will benefit from reading Breaking Your Bubble.

Human nature hasn't changed much since ancient times, but the current advancements in technology, especially in the past hundred years, have caused significant changes in our lifestyle. There are safeguards put in place by institutions like governments to try to protect people, but the issue of protecting oneself against self-harm becomes more difficult. People rarely give up delayed pleasure for immediate gratification. Breaking Your Bubble by Razvan Balotescu discusses human nature and some of the traits inherited from our ancestors that explain the way we are, such as genetic makeup that makes us more tolerant of some foods and how radical changes to what we consume affect our well-being. Technological advancements have enabled us to live in a bubble, unlike our ancestors, who had to deal with various challenges from day to day.

One of the things that stands out in Breaking Your Bubble by Razvan Balotescu is how it addresses the well-being of individuals holistically. The world is currently experiencing a rise in mental health issues, so I loved how the book covers spirituality and emotional issues that impact mental health. I also loved the diversity of the topics discussed, from Western medicine to alternative medicine and the role of exercise in maintaining well-being. Another thing that held my attention was the thought-provoking concept of human design and how the comforts of modernity might be doing more harm than good to us. The narrative was also very detailed, and references to other books and authors made it very effective in passing on the intended message. I look forward to reading something else by this author.

Breaking Your Bubble by Razvan Balotescu is a thought-provoking self-help book with advice centered around science, history, and spirituality. Balotescu, a medical doctor, discusses how most illnesses stem from modern-day conveniences. Despite technological advancements in food production, recreation, and work environments, a historical lifestyle design is still central to the optimal efficiency of the human body. For example, excessive food intake and inactivity were not the design of our ancestors. He talks boldly about the political and economic forces that intentionally create conditions in which humans become subpar versions of themselves by not living at their capacity. Balotescu gives in-depth medical explanations that support this theory and show how by finding purpose and living a lifestyle best suited to your design, one that is scientifically sound, you can live a purposeful life through God.

Breaking Your Bubble by Razvan Balotescu is compelling, controversial, and intellectually refreshing. Balotescu not only advises on the best health strategy for diet, exercise, and sleep behavior, amongst others, but backs it with scientific reasoning, explaining in detail how and why the body responds best to his suggestions. I enjoyed how openly and bravely he spoke about the profit-driven pharmaceutical industry and how medicine has become less about health. Though the theory about finding comfort in discomfort is not new, he provides a more holistic view. He analyzes how the rich and the influential stand to benefit and reap financial rewards from a society constantly seeking comfort. The core message from this book is why it is crucial to challenge yourself daily, and in so doing, you will have the clarity of mind to live your purpose. Anyone who enjoys deep thinking about life, health, and God will enjoy this book.
