Shar Vegas Moore shares her story of overcoming trauma and the unexpected hurdles life threw in her path in this illuminating memoir. Broken For Better follows Shar's journey from growing up in low-income, poverty-stricken neighborhoods in Columbia, South Carolina, raised by a single mother with another sibling and cousins, to becoming a renowned author, poet, and life coach, surpassing numerous challenges along the way. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Shar lived with her girlfriend, who had a three-year-old child. However, circumstances forced them to leave their home in Miami, Florida, and seek living quarters in a shelter, where they were forced to live apart. Shar later came to terms with her trauma and battled depression and anxiety to find acceptance in her relationship with God.

Broken For Better is a moving story of resilience, faith, and survival amid adversity. Shar Vegas Moore gives an unflinching account of her life and the struggles she went through to discover who she was and what she was meant to do in this life. This inspirational memoir takes readers on a young woman's journey in search of self-discovery, meaning, and purpose. Although heartbreaking at times, Shar's story also demonstrates the resilient nature of the human spirit and the power of faith that enables us to navigate the most unfavorable circumstances and difficult situations in life. Reading this memoir inspires you to acknowledge your trauma, find self-acceptance, develop self-awareness, and begin your own healing journey. I found it insightful, profound, and very motivational. If you love reading true inspirational stories, this book is a must-have on your bookshelf.
