"Bronte & Frank go to Moscow" is a delightful children’s book written by Megan Worthy. Bronte is a young girl who travels to Moscow on a big plane with her teddy bear, Frank. It is winter in Moscow and the surroundings are very unique and different. Bronte and Frank make many exciting discoveries in the big city, Gorky Park and St. Basil’s Cathedral. Frank is a little hesitant about trying new things, but Bronte is there to comfort and encourage him. They learn some Russian words and make a new friend. Bronte brings Frank into many grand adventures while they admire the colorful surroundings of the onion-top buildings and the beautiful imagery all around them.
The cover of the book is visually captivating and truly catches the reader’s eye. The illustrations come to life brilliantly in using images that we associate with Russian culture such as the big fur hats, Russian stacking dolls, rounded dome buildings and the colorful and unique clothing. Not only is it just a story, this book comes with activities and a music compact disc, which makes it interactive and more engaging for children. The wording is very easy for a child to comprehend and each page is beautifully illustrated. The story is set into a hardcover spiral-bound book that contains many extras such as a map, stickers, games, a writing page journal as well as a Bronte and Frank postcard for children to send out. Children can spend countless hours learning a list of Russian words that translate to English and will have an amazing adventure of their own. This is a charming story any child will absolutely love and they can learn a great deal from it also!
