C-26 is a contemporary romance by D.D. Lorenzo. On April 15, 1912, as the Titanic takes them to their watery graves, Isodore Eisenberg promises his wife Abigail that even in death, he would search for her and be reunited again. Present-day: When Dash Barrows meets Skylar Harrison for the first time, he feels a special connection to her and believes she is his soulmate. Skylar feels the connection too but acts cautiously. Their romance blossoms, much to the ire of Ian, one of Dash’s friends who despises Skylar. Dash soon begins to act strangely and calls Skylar “Abigail.” This abnormal behavior worries Skylar, while Ian blames her for his friend’s demise.
“Love and time, always hoped for, never promised.” How true this is, as two couples from different eras never knew when love would find them, or how their lives would become entwined. I am sure what Isodore and Abigail experienced in their cabin is similar to the actual horrific drama of some Titanic victims facing death. D.D. Lorenzo wrote the first chapter realistically and compassionately. It could easily make a lovely conclusion if the author only wrote a story about Isadore and Abigail’s lives. I had mixed reactions to the conclusion but still liked it. Dash is a man of integrity, unlike Ian. Do not be fooled by Skylar’s quiet personality. She is strong, level-headed, and practical. C-26 is a light-hearted, but poignant contemporary romance story by D.D. Lorenzo. If you desire something quick to read, C-26 is an ideal choice.
