Author Biography

Laura Roberts writes about sex, travel, writing, and ninjas – though not necessarily in that order.

As the author of the “V for Vixen” sex column, Laura began her career chronicling Montrealers’ sexcapades, which are collected together in her book of essays, The Vixen Files. Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, she’s also penned Confessions of a 3-Day Novelist, Ninjas of the 512, parts one and two of her serial novel, Naked Montreal, and a wide assortment of erotic Quickies.

Laura is also the founding editor of the literary magazine Black Heart, and can leg-press an average-sized sumo wrestler while sipping her morning coffee. She lives in an Apocalypse-proof bunker in sunny SoCal with her artist husband and their literary kitties.

Confessions of a 3-Day Novelist: How to Write an Entire Book in Just 72 Hours (Indie Confessions 1) by Laura Roberts gives readers a crash course on how to write a novel fast. She speaks about the five important things to write a full-length novel in three days: An Idea, Characters, An Outline, Fuel, and A Distraction-Free Workspace. The tips are easy and it is a fun manual useful to those who want to finish a novel quickly. Writing a novel in three days is not easy. One needs to be organized, dedicated and motivated to achieve their goals.

I found the concept very interesting and, as long as the writer is not distracted, writing a novel can be completed in three days. The author advises readers to choose a topic that they are passionate about. If one has the outline ready, with dedication the book can be completed quickly. A good outline list is also helpful to incorporate the writer's interesting and exciting details and specific images into the story. Distraction-free work space is very important when one wants to finish writing the novel in record time. The author recommends that writers switch off their phones, block the internet and choose good spots to sit and write in peace.

The book is an encouragement to all writers who think writing a novel takes a long time. The author makes the task of writing a novel so simple and easy. It is a perfect book for those planning to bring out a novel in a short time.
