Contrary to Conception: Stories and Lessons about Successful Birth Control and Contraceptive Methods by Madeline V. Pasimio, DDS is a useful and informative book on contraception. The book begins with a true story of how a young girl approaches her mother and asks to see a doctor so that she may begin practicing contraception. The mother feels mixed emotions ranging from relief that her daughter came to her about the subject to worrying over how she would hide it from her husband, as had been requested by her daughter. This leads the mother to search the internet on how to have the full discussion, but it didn't prove useful to her. This is where the author begins to educate the reader with useful information she has gathered and presented.
Contrary to Conception has everything you will need to know about the topic, from the history and statistics to which method will suit you best. If you need guidance when it comes to choosing which contraception method to use, then look no further. The book opened my eyes to contraception as a whole. I had no idea that there were so many options, as I'd heard of a few listed in the book but not all of them. I found the explanations of each method to be highly useful as I have never been 100% sure of how each one of them works. There is so much packed into this wonderfully informative book that I feel it should be available everywhere, from schools to libraries, because I have never come across a book like it before. I hope that it gets the attention and recognition it deserves as the author has put a lot of thought, effort, and research into it. I recommend this book to girls and women of all ages, as it's never too late to educate yourself and improve your life. I recommend this book and congratulate Madeline V. Pasimio. I hope your book brings you all of the success it deserves.
