Disturbia: Poems by Shadress Denise takes us on a journey of two lovers entangled in a love triangle. The author describes Bodega and Indigo as two soulmates. In order to understand the spiritual aspect of what a soulmate is, one must be willing to search deep within their spirit and remember the feelings of their first love. A soulmate is a person with whom one has a feeling of deep attraction. Their relationship involves love, romance, friendship, comfort, intimacy, and sexuality. The main characters are in a heart-wrenching battle of the souls - they love each other and their love conquers all. Indigo and Bodega finally come to the realization that they belong together, no matter how much hurt and pain they cause their other partners.

If you have ever read about the spiritual journey of soulmates, then you will definitely understand the inexplicable love between Indigo and Bodega. The author, Shadress Denise, portrays a highly emotional love story through her book of poems titled Disturbia. The context of the story was refreshing with bits and pieces of poetry between the love letters. I was left wondering if there was some type of relationship between Bodega's girlfriends and Indigo after reading her message directed at Indigo: “I often wonder where this leaves us?” I suppose we will never know. Overall, I liked the story. If you enjoy reading love stories, this book of poems will definitely awaken the spirit of love within you. Believe in love unconditionally; it truly does conquer all.
