EAT HOT...LOOK HOT™️ The Starter Cookbook: A Beginner’s Guide with 60 Delicious Recipes, Shopping Guides and Tips to Lose Weight Easily, The Hot Way! is a nonfiction cooking and food book written by Alessandra Solis. This book is designed to work with her previously published books. Solis made an amazing discovery when she effortlessly lost a considerable amount of weight. Her secret? She had been eating very spicy, hot snack foods. The thermogenic properties of those spicy treats actually prompted her body to start burning fat. The research she conducted afterwards confirmed her initial hypothesis, and her books chart the program she devised to optimize your own thermogenic powers.

In EAT HOT...LOOK HOT™️ The Starter Cookbook, Solis takes the reader through sample dishes for each of the first three phases of her diet program. Each phase is designed to help the reader build a tolerance to hot and spicy foods while also starting the metabolic furnaces roaring. I appreciated her practical approach to food strategy, which allows followers of her plan to eschew complicated recipes and adapt easy, everyday meal options to their taste. Solis’s recipes are well-presented and easy to follow. They are accompanied by lushly colorful photographs of the basic ingredients and finished dishes. While I would have liked to see a brief summary of her thermogenic principles and a thumbnail version of the diet program, which would have allowed the reader to more fully understand what they were doing by following each phase, I was disappointed with the final chapter which purports to be a “Surprise Chapter” introducing Phase Four. Otherwise, a respectable and well-presented cookbook.
