In Elias Wynn: The Witness by Sebastian A. Guzman, we read about eighteen-year-old Elias Wynn, devastated by a rare autoimmune disease. After being hospitalized, Elias is sent home so that he can learn to understand his body’s new limitations. Elias notices a flyer promising restoration of both body and soul. Curious and desperate, Elias attends a meeting where a miracle happens: his body is healed. Even his doctors are unable to explain the transformation. After this miracle, Elias’s life changes in unsettling ways. Elias experiences strange things happening around him, while something inside him is calling. Increasingly disturbing experiences blur the line between miracle and nightmare. Elias was warned that the Healer does not leave things unfinished. This has Elias questioning whether he has truly been healed or whether something far more terrifying has taken hold of him.
Elias Wynn by Sebastian A. Guzman was something out of this world. From the first page, I was intrigued and could not wait to learn where this story was heading. Elias was a strong character, despite everything he had to endure. There was a special place for every character in this extraordinary book. The pacing gave enough time for me to process everything and remember it in detail. I could not put this book down, not even for a minute. There was so much I wanted to know, and I could not risk missing out on something. The book was brilliantly written and exceeded my expectations. I had no idea what I was letting myself into by starting to read the book. I really enjoyed it and will definitely read it again.
