Ella Plant Plants a Tree is Book 1 in the Ella Plant Series for children by Michael Amaral. Ella Plant is a nature-loving elephant. She couldn’t wait to go to school because she had her favorite subject today which was science. Mrs. Raffe taught about the different creatures around the world and climate change. Some students didn’t believe in climate change so they didn’t take the topic seriously. But not Ella. Climate change was a new and interesting topic to Ella who became concerned about how it affected the environment She couldn’t get the answers she needed from other teachers like Mrs. Potamus, Mr. Eetta or Aunty Lope to explain how to make a difference to the environment until she spoke to her mother. Then she had a brilliant idea and decided she wanted to plant a tree at school. But would the principal Mrs. Ceros approve of the idea? Ella hoped she would.
