Evidence Not Seen by Carlene Havel is another touching and well written Christian romance in Prism's "Love Is" series. Jeffrey Galloway is an attorney and the son of Rosemary and Keith Galloway. Keith has spent the last twenty-seven years in prison for a crime that Rosemary says he did not commit and he is due to be released from prison. As Jeff is dealing with his emotions about the return of his father, he meets Melanie Clark, a social worker. When they begin dating, Jeff tells Melanie about his father and she encourages him to forgive. As Jeff tries to go back and look at the facts of his father's case, he discovers some startling information that forces him to change the way he has thought about a lot of things. As this romance blossoms, faith and trust will play a role in how it all turns out.
Carlene Havel gives us a well written story with well developed and detailed characters that are complicated and interesting. This is more than a simple love story; this small book is filled with not only romance, but mystery, intrigue, forgiveness and hope. We discover second chances as Carlene Havel's characters search for truth. In the midst of romance and mystery, we are reminded of the love of our Father and the importance of this relationship first. This novella by Carlene Havel has the impact of a much larger novel. It is powerful, intriguing, captivating and well worth the read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and actually read it twice.
